Say My Name
Who's your audience?
Your audience has a name:
Li Wei
Amara
Dani
Gregg
Adele
Charles
Debbie
Jean-Philippe
Marianna
Each is experiencing your music one person at a time, in their own personal way. That's one of the components of what I mean when I say “All Art is Personal.”
What do I know about your audience?
They care if you perform.
They care if you compose.
They will miss, or miss out, if you don’t perform or compose.
The work you're doing is important. You have the power to create beauty, joy, comfort and inspiration. You’re in a position to musically reflect the world in which we currently live – the good and the not so good.
Only by telling your story, and telling us how you are different from others, can you expect members of the media to discover you.
Hook them with your story, and your one-of-a-kind, unlike anyone else, approach to the work you do. And they, in turn, will connect you to Li Wei, Amara, Dani, Gregg, Adele, Charles, Debbie, Jean-Philippe, Maria and your future audience.
And that's the other reason why All Art is Personal.
As Don and Juan said to the late 50’s:
